The origin of vedanta schools

MADHVACHARYA Founder of dvaita
SRI RAMANUJACHARYA Founder of visishtadvaita

I think, the difficult question regarding Vedanta is about its origin. Some scholars sticks to a  view on its beginning from Vedas. More strictly, from Upanishads. But which Upanishads? It is still difficult to assert or refute. None among the ten principal Upanishads strictly follows the doctrines of any Vedanta schools in strict sense. It was in the Brahmasutras of Badarayana Vedanta became an organised system. Later different teachers interpreted it according to their different views, which resulted in the formation of different branches, namely Advaita Vedanta, Visishtadvaita Vedanta, Dvaitavedanta etc.

vedanta

VEDANTA

Vedanta is one of the ancient speculative systems of India that  have  wider popularity. The system is found on the sacred literature called Upanishads. later on many systems sprang out of it. Today vedanta is a huge tree having plenty of branches. The significance of vedanta never ends with this. It was the ideology that lead the founders of modern India. Now a days scholars are approaching the system from different angles. Thy include post- colonialism, post-modernism, etc which takes away the genuine development of modern vedanta from the traditional vedanta to the domain of hybridity. It is cultural colonialism of a new kind that invades into the cultural identity of a once colonized territory.
